Profile of the Croydon Urban Cycle Routes
Introdution to our urban routes
We have used 9 local parks, dedicated traffic free cycle paths, available off road sections and minimised the use of main roads to create some great urban cycle routes with a rural feel. The parks used in these routes are Crystal Palace Park, Brockwell Park, Ruskin Park, Dulwich Park, Norwood Park, South Norwood Country Park, Morden Hall Park, Rosehill Park & Beddington Park. Please browse the circuit profiles below to find out if they are for you.
Please note that these circuits are circular and can be joined at any point. The starts are suggestions only as they offer public parking. Parks are open during daylight hours only, please click here to see approximate opening times. Please also note that some parks have height restrictions at their entrances which may require you to remove any bicycles off your car bike rack before entering.
Mitcham & Morden (10 1/4 mile cycle route)

Start – Public car parking is available at Morden Hall Park, Morden Hall Road, Morden, Surrey SM4 5JD.
Description – This is a relatively flat circuit that takes in Morden Hall Park, Figges Marsh and Rosehill Park. Major roads have been minimised and over 40% of this route is through parks or on cycle lanes. This route can be completed on a road bike.

South Norwood & West Wickham (11 mile cycle route)

Start – Public car parking is available at South Norwood Country Park. The car park is off Albert Road, Near Woodside, Croydon, Surrey.
Description – This is a relatively easy 11 mile route that links South Norwood Country Park with traffic free cycle lanes in Park Langley and off road sections near Addington Hills. You will need a mountain or hybrid bike to complete this circuit.

Crystal Palace & Brockwell (12.2 mile cycle route)

Start – Public car parking is available at Crystal Palace Park, off Crystal Palace Park Road, opposite Sydenham Avenue, Crystal Palace.
Description – This is a great circuit taking in Crystal Palace Park, Dulwich Park, Ruskin Park, Brockwell Park and Norwood Park. This route takes in Dulwich Village and the smallest public railway in the World at Brockwell Park and Brockwell Lido. This is not a flat circuit but can be completed on a road or hydbrid bike. Parking is also available at Dulwich Park, College Road entrance.

South Croydon & Wallington (14 mile cycle route)

Start – Public car parking is available at Grange Park Car Park, London Road, Nr Beddington Park (opposite Riverside Close, Wallington, Surrey).
Description – This is a fabulous 14 mile route that at its nearest point is only ½ mile from central Croydon yet almost completely avoids busy main roads with over a 1/3 of this circuit on bridleways or cycle paths. Our suggested start is at Wallington, but after just 2 ½ miles you are already enjoying countryside. You will need a mountain bike to complete this circuit. Parking is also available at Westcroft Leisure Centre.
